Ground School Programs

Cooking lake aviation academy’s ground school programs are the result of many years of teaching and flying experience by the two main contributors who each have more than 30 years of flying experience and combined more than 40 hours flight training experiences.

Text books can provide you with information from which you may learn enough to get by, but there is no substitute for experience. Throughout our ground school classes we make a serious effort to bring to you real life examples of events and occurrences, both historical and current, that we fell will help you to gain a greater understanding of what it really means to be in control of an aircraft.

Our ground school programs are constantly being upgraded and changed as we feel it may best help you to learn. All of our classroom presentations are on power point with live narration by a classroom instructor. Wherever possible we bring in guest lecturers who we feel can offer a greater understanding of the subject matter. When we can we also use video clips provided by transport Canada other training organizations and even You-Tube.

All of our courses are designed to cover Transport Canada required subjects and more. Our hope is to provide a broader perspective for a better understanding of all subjects.

Private pilot ground school classes are held on Wednesday evenings three times per year, starting in January, May and September. You are welcome to start anytime, and you will be able to continue into the next rotation to complete the course. We encourage continued participation in our ground school classes as repetition help retention.
