Are You Considering A Career In Aviation?

Do You Aspire To Become An Airline Pilot?

If you answered yes to these questions, then you need a sound education.  Grant MacEwan University and Cooking Lake Aviation Academy have collaborated to enable students to achieve their aviation goals.  An education is important for two reasons.  First, an education is a prerequisite for employment by most airlines.  Secondly, should you ever be unfortunate enough to lose your aviation medical, it is important to have something to fall back on. Students may now earn a diploma in Management Studies while they also earn various pilot ratings and endorsements.

The Grant MacEwan University Management Studies Diploma is built on industry-relevant courses in general management, business communication skills, organizational behavior, marketing, accounting, budgeting, finance, human resources management, and microcomputer business applications.  Majors include Forum for International Trade Training (FITT), Human Resources, Insurance, Golf, and Aviation.  Flight Training and Ground School courses may be used as electives towards the 20 course diploma.  The Management Studies Diploma is available as a one-year or two-year delivery.

MacEwan’s Management Studies Aviation Management major – a unique partnership between MacEwan and Transport Canada-approved training centres – allows those whose heads are literally in the clouds to turn their love of aviation into a career.

Aviation Management provides a mix of skills that prepares you for the business of flight. Five courses (15 credits) from the Management Studies diploma are replaced with aviation training leaving you with instruction in many core business skills including accounting, marketing and strategic management.

The Management Studies Program is located at Grant MacEwan University South Campus, 7319 - 29 Avenue. For specific information about the program, please contact Management Studies Program Advisors:
