Imagine stepping into a full cockpit simulator then sitting down into a real leather airliner style seat, dimming the lights, firing up the engine(s) and then entering a world of aviation simulation at it's best including looking at three HD TV screens giving you a feeling of total immersion into the simulated world your instructor has created for you today. Now imagine the sound of your engines like you really were in the cockpit and enjoying a flight somewhere. Until you experince what it is like to feel immersed in a simulation it really is hard to explain.
Cooking Lake Aviation Academy is proud to inform you about our Precision Flight Controls, MFD (Modular Flight Deck) Transport Canada Approved Flight Training Device. With the use of simulation in flight training pilots can learn cost affectively and take full advantage of simulated flying environments including during training for a Recrational Pilot Permit, Private Pilot Licence, Commercial Pilot Licence or an actual Instrument Pilot Rating.
Our MFD simulator is capable of creating the harshest flying conditions including heavy winds, rain, snow and even icing conditions, all to prepare would be pilots for changing weather conditions that may be experienced in the real world but having the advantage of the safety of a simulated environment.
During various stages of training we can simulate emergency situations such as an engine power loss, engine damages, engine failure, flight control failure as well as many other not so nice failures all to enhance a pilot's emergency procedure skills. Using our MFD simulator our instructors are able to put student pilots in simulated situations that would be impossible in real life due to safety reasons such as an engine failure immediately after takeoff.
Our instrument pilot training program utilizes the simulator heavily during this intensive course including 23 simulated IFR missions as part of obtaining an instrument rating. With the very latest in equipment including a real Garmin 430 GPS, autopilot, HSI, ADF, VOR/ILS we can simulate every IFR approach including the latest RNAV approaches. During training for your instrument rating you will learn to operate a Garmin 430 GPS to conduct RNAV approaches and then when you are completed training in the simulator you will take those skills into one of our Garmin equipped aircraft including the Cessna C172 G1000 Glass Cockpit or our Garmin 430/530 equipped Piper Seminole and fly real RNAV approaches in the Edmonton, Alberta area or beyond if you wish.
Simulation in flight training makes sense, it saves you money and best of all you will never have a dreaded "weather day" in our MFD simulator.
Please stop by today and ask about a free flight in our MFD simulator !
LATEST NEWS: Our simulator is now in a fully air conditioned and heated room, for your continued comfort and enjoyment.
