About the event

Welcome to Cooking Lake Aviation Academy, home of the First Annual Emergency Airlift for Santa’s Anonymous. As you can see, Cooking Lake has the aircraft ready for its flight to Edmonton City Centre to drop off toys for 630 CHED’s Santa’s Anonymous.

During our daily routine at Cooking Lake, we pride ourselves on providing outstanding flight training to all of our members. However we also like to have some fun and help out the community as well. That’s why the management and staff at Cooking Lake Aviation Academy have committed to helping Santa’s Anonymous in providing toys for children in the Edmonton area.

Our goal is to collect a minimum of 100 toys and fly them in to Edmonton City Centre for delivery to the Santa’s Anonymous Warehouse on December 22, 2010. Help us to achieve our goal by bringing in a gift or two to the hangar and be entered to win an hour of flight time in a Cessna 172.

Update: December 22, 2010

Good afternoon, today was such a special day at Cooking Lake that we would like to share the details with everyone. After just over a week of collecting presents for 630 Ched's Santas Anonymous your toy donations filled three aircraft with your amazing generosity. Just after 10AM today we launched three aircraft including our twin engined Piper Seminole all stuffed full of toys to the Edmonton City Centre Airport to deliver the gifts to Santas Anonymous staff.  None of this would be possible without the CLAA community of pilots, student pilots and other local participant's generosity. We are  truly overwhelmed by the caring spirit our members and others have shown to support a great cause.

We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Thank you from all the staff at CLAA.
